Is there anywhere in the UK NOT presently covered in snow? 100% snow free roads?
If so, I want to go to there.

Not a great deal in Leicester, although some of the pavements are very icy.0

Most of South Wales. A few flutters a few days ago, but nothing major. Just frost.0

Poole,Dorset.
We had a tiny sprinkling of snow yesterday, which has gone now.
However, there is a thick layer of ice over everything, so no cycling.
I've spent an hour today spreading cat litter to melt the ice on the paths, it works amazingly!!!0 -
Free here too.
We've had the odd light dusting, nothing you could make a snowball out of though. Ice is the problem, I had to reverse about 1/4 mile on a narrow lane yesterday evening because a lorry was stuck on a downhill section, unable to move without sliding all over the place.0 -
I can't believe how little we have had here , when not far away people have been dumped on from a great height.

No snow whatsoever here (South Uist, Island in the atlantic) although I imagine its quite a long way to travel for a bike ride.0

bit of ice on the pavement and road here in Swansea, but very little, and no snow....
but why on earth would you want to go somewhere there isnt snow...? its snow(sorry!) much fun! get an mtb, and go drift!I like bikes and stuff0 -
Been working from home as it is 2ft of snow outside, so in my work hour I've been out snowboarding
Only challenge was trying to get the car down to the main road so I can drive to my parents on Christmas eve, :roll:0 -
Yep still snow free in shropshire (still not riding because of the ice though  )It’s the most beautiful sport in the world but it’s governed by ***ts who have turned it into a crock of ****.0

Hasn't snowed since Sunday, and the ice thawed today.
Will be on the bike tomorrow.
Can I come join you for several hours on the bike tomoro!? You can laugh at my Astana kit in person
Where in NE Wales exactly? I suspect it wouldn't actually be that far to travel....0 -

redddraggon wrote:I live just the other side of Chester really. Can't take much more than 45mins travelling time from Manchester/Macclesfield (although that is without snow).
I'm slow though, real slow, probably hold you back if you were planning proper training.
I think I may just put the bike in the car and drive to Chester tomoro and ride out from there. Hopefully it is clear and dry in Chester!0 -

redddraggon wrote:Well I recommend starting Here if you don't want to trek to far into Wales.
Plenty of Parking Spaces (if you get there early enough) and avoids the PITA that is getting in and out of Chester.
If you want any suggestions for routes give me a shout.
Cheers for that. Which way do you recommend going from there? West or South?0 -
I'd normally do some thing like this:

Heading West is best for hills, heading South is a lot flatter. You can do a lot hillier than that route if that's what you want.0 -

I hate hills. I'll take the flatter route. Thanks for that - much appreciated. Might even return a few times this week if the weather doesn't improve around my parts. WHich it won't.0 -

If you want a flat route start from the other end of chester and go south.0

Honestly - I just want to ride. If I come across hills - so be it. I'll go up them. The main thing is to be out on the road!
know that feeling!
New bike has covered 15 miles......... Mix of ice & work0 -
North wales it is then! Try to stick to the main roads, some of the side roads yesterday looked pretty slippy, back wheel even slipped when climbing on a clear road.0

Went to North Wales. Totally worth it. 3 hours of snow-free riding. I shall return!0

Where did you go?
Started in Chester and headed towards Wrexham. Then towards Mold. Just tried to stay off the A-roads as much as possible and ended up circling around and around the area. A few little hills to keep it interesting. The time really did fly by.
I would have ventured further south, but didn't want to get lost! No map and no sat-nav, etc. Next time will try and print off the route you gave me so I have a reference.0 -
No snow or ice here now, because its raining.0
