we're supposed to be coming to England for christmas but eurotunnel are messing about again.
Every time we come its always bad weather so this year we thought lets go on the tunnel so we don't have to wait for a boat
Murpheys law isn't it we go on the ferry, get caught in a force 10 and wait off dover and when we go on the tunnel it snows and they all break down

And as my gran put it "Its fu*ki**g freezing but this is what is called global warming "
I assume this is French petrol - be careful in reverse - the car will retreat rapidly at the least provocation.

    Feel bad for you mate.
Sadly, by the sounds of it they haven't got a clue how to fix it and it looks like a lot of people might not even make it home for Xmas.

If my pilot wasn't on holiday I'd send my helicopter over...

Maybe they should just open the tunnel so you can cycle through :)

Thought I was gonna be stuck on the continent this year, but Easyjet finally coped with the couple of flakes of snow.

The problem with Eurotunnel it's a joint venture it was bound to fk up ...

And the French crews did SFA .. It was off duty policemen that opened the doors and got the people out ...

And if it was a fire I'd hate ot think of the number of casulties and the length of time they had to wait ... .. and also it highlights the lack of training and rescue plans that aren't in place when such incidents arises .. and to blame it on fluffy snow is just down right Bullsh.............it

In the end the whole board should be sacked or forced to resign .. for not making sure Proper procedures were in place and regular training ... ENFORCED ...

Cutting corners problems will arise .. Running a business you can't cut corners for the sale of profit .. People's lives aren't worth it nethier is the Companies reputation .. which is in tatters ...

Understand why you're pissed off, I would be but I do know that they intentionally didn't activate their disaster plans, because it just wasn't that sort of situation. What you saw isn't what happens in the event of a crash or similiar.

Not that the chaos you got wasn't a total pisstake but it doesn't mean they couldn't handle a full-on emergency.

  • their disaster plans are for much worst happenings like fires, chemical spills, dead people(if it was me driving the train I would just have slowed down a bit and thrown the out) that sort of thing.you saw how they handle fires, they just get with what they have been trained to do.
That said though a mate from Bromley came over this morning on the tunnel and said hes never seen it so quiet,he thought the m20 would be chaos but he said from ashford onwards it had never snowed
