Road Bike Maintenance

Hi all
I've had my first "proper" road bike for a few months now, and I want it to have a long and happy life.
If you look up road bike maintenance on Google, it brings up loads of sites, all of which give slightly different advice.
I'd be grateful for links to what people regard as the best advice for regular road bike maintenance.
Thanks all!

Common sense is the best advice.
+1 for bicycletutor.com0 -
+1 for zinn and th art of road bike maintenance.
Great for if you want to do some proper maintenance.
In the short run, keep it clean and well lubricated, then if you notice a rattle or little problem, get it fixed asap using a good reference book like Zinn. Prevents so many problems own the line..."I hold it true, what'er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
'Tis better to have loved and lost;
Than never to have loved at all."

Got my copy of Zinn and the Art of Road Bike Maintenance for Christmas. Hopefully it will prove its worth. LBA - £10 for STi adjustment, so if only avoiding that twice it will be good value.There's no such thing as too old.0
