I've just spent the last day or two turning this:

:-)

If the weather improves tomorrow then I'll take her out for a spin - I can't wait! I'm also really pleased with how the colour scheme has worked out too - red and white does look good.

I took a while with cleaning all my old bits. Everything was pulled apart - crankset and pedals in particular. I think I'll send the forks off for a service in the new year as they're getting old!

Now for the geeky stuff:

The main differences between the old and new are:

- Frame
- Headset
- Bottom Bracket
- Handlebar + stem + grips
- Seatpost
- Saddle
- Wheels

So the new spec is:

Frame: 2010 Santa Cruz Superlight with 2010 Fox RP23 Shock
Fork: RS Revelations (2008)
Brakes: Avid Juicy 5's (2008)
Shifter: Shimano XT M770 (2008)
Crank: RaceFace Deus (2007)
Bottom Bracket: Hope Stainless Steel
Front Derailleur: Shimano XT M770 (2010)
Cassette Shimano: Shimanmo XT
Rear Derailleur: Shimano XT M772 Shadow mech (2009)
Chain Shimano: SRAM PC991 Crosstep
Wheelset: Hope Hoops Pro 3 XC-6 with Stans ZTR 355 rims (running with tubes atm)
Front + Rear Tire: Panaracer Fire XC Pro Kevlar
Headset: Hope Headset
Stem: Raceface Deus 90mm
Handlebar: Raceface Deus Riser
Grips: DMR Zipgrip
Seatpost: Thomson Elite
Saddle: Charge Spoon
Pedals: Shimano XTR
Cables: Shimano XTR

Total weight is 12kg. No lightweight, but not exactly a heffer either!

Thoughts/comments/criticims welcome! More pictures below :-)

Pete

    Nice

Some Avid Juicy carbons would finish it off nicely - carbon and red ano!

I like the colour scheme, goes very well. A nicely specced bike that too.

    8) Nice bike mate!

Loving the white frames at the mo too.

watch this space for something similar!
MTB's, SC Blur LTc & Cotic Soul (26" definitely aint dead!).
    Other, Genesis Croix De Fer
  • Thanks all! I'll go and give it a weigh in a bit, and then get out and get snowy :-)
  • According to the scales (which I don't quite trust), she weighs in at 12kg exactly. Not bad! The ride was pretty good too, although I couldn't open the taps all the way as it was very slippy!

really smart. Its a nice build. Have fun riding it...
  • Thanks raceface gt and ramemtbers!

raceface gt - colour coding is good fun if you have a reasonable plan so enjoy it!

ramemtbers - first 'proper' ride will be Sunday or Monday :-) Hopefully there will be a bit less snow to make things a little easier!
