hi all, just a quickie. I have tried to cut the cladding and wire for my gears and brakes and want to know how everyone else does it.

I use tinsnips and they do cut through the cladding ok but they seem to squash it or at the very least perform a rough cut so bits of wire are sticking out and thus the brakes are strange and the levers dont return to their positions very well.

sorry if that last bit was a tad confusing, any help much appreciated. Thanks.

    get some cable cutters.

    and do the job correctly.

Snips just do not do the job well at all.

As a cheap option, feed some inner back up to where your cutting and it supports the liner )chop off the last 1/2") and stops it collapsing, not as good as the proper tool, but perfectly 'adequate'.
