  • There is a German Tandem Company that does a Cable to Hydraulic disc conversion for use with drop bars.

Now, if you were to use two of these master cyclinders with a BMX type brake splitter you should be able to run two Disc brakes from one lever.

    Just a thought
    This is why!

Now I want a parking brake. Just need to rig up a gyro to keep it balanced.

I did manage to get the braking system working (quite a while ago!) and though i would share it in case anyone does a search looking to do the same.

Hope supplied some nice little spliters allowing me to have the single lever running to two calipers
I bleed them while set up on the bike
Fill two syringes with brake fluid and fit these to the bleed nipples on the calipers .
remove the top cap on the lever
compress the syringes till fluid comes out of the top cap
    refit the top cap
    close one nipple
on the open side press in then pull out the syringe while holding the syringe up right to allow bubble to rise to the surface
when bubbles stop put pressure on syringe then close nipple off, remove syringe and clean any spillage off of this side
complete this process on the other side but before spin the wheels after bleeding then press on syringe, this will stop the wheels so fine tune it until brakes no longer rub

    DONE

Pete nicked from another thread earlier this year.

and by playing with the reach adjuster you end up with a bias adjuster.

could be done with any similar mounting brakes.

Good to hear that you got sorted.

That is another way of doing it but extra weight and it looks like a bodge job!

Really? the lever blade is nicely made but it is still very clearly two levers bolted together
This system would offer more power than the set up it did tho.
shame i have no photos of it

explosivpete, what combination of levers and pistons did you end up using?

I built up 5 sets all with hope parts, minis, motos and a set of tech x2s
They all worked with similar results, lever feel was good and they have the power to stop 4 huskys are full pelt (they were used on a dog racing sled)
As long as the brakes being used have bleed nipples on the caliper i can't see why other makes wouldn't work

So are you using a standard mix of levers and calipers? (ie mini on mini)?
