Its interesting to see how commuting cyclists and facilities "upset" the balance in the same way in other countries:

I also see David Mitchell has voiced the new Highway Code campaign:

I'm sure some of us have experienced a motorist telling us: "I dont need to reread it, I passed the test, what did you pass?!"

I'd say they are protesting against a lack of parking rather than the existence of cycling facilities.downfader wrote:I also see David Mitchell has voiced the new Highway Code campaign:

I'm not sure what they're getting at with this one, are all road users supposed to periodically re-read the highway code? Does it really change that much? If I see a sign or road marking that I'm not familiar with I'll look it up on-line but I certainly don't revise the whole thing periodically.
PPPeople that make generalisations are all morons.

I think the first video is a bit of both from the later comments a couple of guys there make.
There has been some 12% (is it?) change or additions to the HC in the past 10 years. Many people dont realise this. I think the point being made (slightly cack-handedly) is that perhaps we'd all understand each other a little better if we've read the changes and understand why they were included, and hence why people use the roads in the way they do.0 -

I found myself fully expecting him to put global warming down as a Jewish conspiracy - he got pretty close. Maybe it got edited out....0 -

He should do stand-up! I think my favourite line was the one where he says cyclist should pay a tax based on their weight - I'm guessing that would price him out of using a bike!
Also I quite like the one regarding that no-one cycles in New York and the only reason Holland is so excepting of cycling is apparently because they are all of their faces on drugs :-)0 -
