The bit you can see is black.

But I guess that's hardly surprising - Guess it'll look like the bikes.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.

  • more of a colour scheme than a theme but then black and blue is hardly a unique combination. I dont see any of the HD design being incorporated and why would they? the Sky+HD Trade Team is nothing to do with the new pro road team

I'll bet my last pound that they won't be in a predominantly black kit come July. Cervelo worked that one out quite quickly.

Didn't seem to bother Discovery when Alberto was winning the Tour in 2007.
  • For the road team you could have the same design on the black background, but a different highlight colour –– so for e.g. magenta instead of the blue, or perhaps a fluorescent racing green.

Although once the race hit the mountains, AC was wearing the White Jersey anyway

I don't think it matters if you're riding in a black kit or not (unless Gripper & Co. are looking for you).
  • That's a myth, black is only an issue in the heat if you aren't moving.
  • Black front and white back would be a good look

Exactly. Traders, like the Touaregs, who have been crossing the sahara for thousands of years actually favour black clothing, apparently as it reduces reflection. For them, the need to be covered from head to toe to avoid the heat and what keeps them cool is ventilation inside their robes. A fine mesh cycling kit, in black or white, makes almost no difference to body temperature. The fabric and its wicking properties are the main thing.

As for Sky's kit, it looks like it'll be black and blue. Fine and it should be recognisable. In recent years there have been many blue kits but the black should help spectators, especially TV viewers. Helicopter shots made it harder to distinguish between QS, Agritubel and Fuji kit at times.

And now we have CE, Cervelo, BH and Sky all in black. Why is this different?
It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.

That can't be a real cycling club kit - there's no yellow or orange in it...
