Just got my voucher, can anyone recommend a Halfords in the Birmingham/West Midlands area for the Boardman Team Carbon? From other forum posts, service from Halfords seems to be patchy to say the least...

Thanks to anyone who replies

Someone at work is flogging one with £100 miles on for £480 (Birmingham Area) - do you want the contact details.

Cannock isn't too bad, still not great though, more MTB focused. But a good selection of stock.

I think it's a lottery - someone may recommend a store, but get a different mechanic on the day and you could have a different outcome.

Best to get it from the one that's most local, try to get cheaper boxed so they don't set it up for you (I think they offer this) and either set up yourself (it's quite straightforward) or pay your LBS with the saving.
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

I would second Cannock. I went there last week (don't tell the current wife) and spent a good hour talking bikes with the sales staff. He knew his stuff so it seemed,

Now, just got to talk her in doors into letting me buy another bike! Currently hitting the "why do you need another bike" problems! (It seems: "Because I do" doesn't work with her. :( )
