The Shack ditch internal testing

It takes "one guy" to say that Armstrong's values are suspicious, it takes Armstrong to disparage that person's qualifications... if you discuss the values then you gotta be an f-grade dummy apparently

Before we all start getting hysterical about this, see the interview with Damsgaard from January 2008:
http://autobus.cyclingnews.com/features ... ard_jan082
"Damsgaard hopes that his time of running such programs will have an end - he hopes to see the UCI adopt its own program and run with it. "Personally, I have told the teams and the UCI that I am slowly terminating my engagement with Team CSC and Astana the minute UCI have their 'biological passport' up and running."Le Blaireau (1)0 -
"It just takes one person to say - it could be a guy who graduated last in his class - you know what they call a guy who graduated last in his class at medical school? That's right, Doctor! So it could be a guy who just got out of college and has one journalist who listens and says these are suspicious," said Armstrong.
"So we took them down after that because we had put them up all year long in the vein of complete transparency, and to be attacked like that and accused of something is complete nonsense. It's not worth it. The testing we do through the international agencies and domestic agencies is going to have to be enough for the future," he added.
Why doesn't he just sue the class dunce??0 -

We will see an old man go much faster, next July and his supporters on here, will demand we believe that it's all down to training and mentality."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0

No we won't - because all the other suspects will still be at it too0 -
he's probably right to abandon the internal testing...it seems like replication and a marketing strategy by two other teams, not the shack. It will make no difference to most whether they do "internal testing"..as though they were not doing it secretly for years anyway...anyone who doesn't like him will not persuaded by anything he does...even 3rd at TDF after 4 years off and 38!0

He was 37, but it was a remarkable achievement. However, you have to say that Contador and Schleck were on a whole different level than anyone else at the Tour. For Armstrong to step up to that level (or beyond as both Contador and Schleck are likely to improve further) would be highly improbable, given he will be the oldest man in the peloton. It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.0

Race schedule:
TDU, TOC, something in the warm in Spain. TDF. End of Season. Maybe Missouri to promote 'Cancer'.
Meanwhile, the cycling forums will propogate thousands of threads about the guy's exploits."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

another happy TREK ower are we?0 -
gosh thats very astute I actually own a white 5200 from 2000, its an amazing bike very stiff but carries the comfort of carbon as well. It accelerates out of corners nice and tight and its ability to climb is second to none. I have over the years added various upgrades to it inc carbon cranks, bars and changed the wheels and drive chain. Unfortunatley it doesn't get the fresh air it deserves and mainly stays on the turbo now as I do very little road riding as I race MTB enduros as I find the people and scene there more amicable and the races and riding more 'interesting' :P'..all the bad cats in the bad hats..'0

I doff my cap to you sir, nice response.
You're right you know. I find MTB enduros to be about the friendliest cycling events to go to. However outside of events, I find there to be more willy-wavers in mtbing than in road riding.Scottish and British...and a bit French0 -

Saxo follow suit and dump Damsgaard. I wonder if Riis wants his bike back?
