Hi guys

just joined this forum

i only cycle 5 days a week to the GYM and 2 miles of my route is pitch black with NO street lighting coming in to my village
i want a front light to light the whole cycle path up in front of me, i bought 2 cheap chinese lights off Ebay for £10 and was amazed how good they were, you could see for bloody miles! lol
there was something like 25 LEDS in each light..
but in the end the LEDS flickering and the clamps were rubbish, so they gave up the ghost!

any suggestions on a very very bright light for my racer?

cheers

    Fenix L2D, £42

Just tested mine tonight on pitch-black unlit roads and it was ace.

  • See the big bike light thread in the MTB buying section... "MagicShine" is the one they are currently raving about, for something around the price of the above Fenix (which was last year's best bang for the buck).

  • I have the magic shine - as recommended by users here. Got to say it's fantastic. Used it a few times now, started the commute with it on 900 leumens but turned it down to 400 after couple mins as it was REALLY bright. Got it from ebay - $70 inc postage, that was £48.55 when it arrived on my paypal A/C. BARGAIN...

    Yep magicshine

I got one a couple of months ago, it's a really, really good light, I use it on low power the battery lasts about 6-7 hours, built quality is a lot better that I expected.

You need to allow time for postage though unless you pay extra from bestofferbuy.com.

people don't tend to get stung for vat or import duty from either of these places either.

For a couple of miles of unlit roads I'd say a Magicshine is a bit OTT. Plus, if ordering from HK its unlikely to arrive now until well into January.

I currently use a Fenix L2D (but I am awaiting a Magicshine to clear customs at the moment :D). The L2D is plenty bright enough and I get around 1 and 1/2 hours on Turbo mode.
