as the standard threadless Orbits etc? Considering putting my old Kraken back into service as a spare/rigid but I also want to be able to rotate forks easily between it and the other bikes, they both have Orbits (an MX and an X) so the same headset...

Cheers

    No, don't think so.

I'm sure Cane Creek could help with general questions- "is this an integrated headset" etc but I'd not expect them to have in-depth product knowledge for someone else's range of parts really.

I imagine that if the bearings are the same type on both headsets then there shouldn't much difference between the crown races?
  • the bearing interface may be the same shape but the overall stack and shape of the crown race may be different to accomodate different cups.

some crown races are thicker and have seals/o-rings that mesh with the inside of the cup, although admitedly its mostly traditional headsets that are like this.

    FSA make some CC headsets.

Some FSA headsets use the same races some dont.

Look in the Tech links for the FSA headset book and look yours up.

some are ish interchangeable as the main differences are height and seals.

so on some the cups rub on the fork crown or the seals get in the way.

    Have fun.

Ah, top banana, that's quite a resource they have there. Sadly the answer is no, they're all different from the H6033 in my Orbits. Ah well. Thanks very much anyway!
