Wierd in what way? Its a 1998 model i think, purchased as frame only in 2000. its stayed in its box since then untill June this year when it was built up ridden twice then sold to me.0 -
wierd because i'm too young to know anything about bikes from that year
It does look good though! Nice find!0 -
my dad has that hard rock. but that looks immense. i want it.0

Loving the GT, great bikes. Good to see one in that condition0

It does ride really well actually... forks are a bit of a miss match though with between 3 and 4 inches of travel, the rear has 5 inches.
Ideally wanna get a set of Junior T's on there with a stubby stem and some wide bars0 -
In the spesh - how low is the seat clamp - looks like a jump bike
lovin it0 -

To be fair thats what its used for... its a 15" frame, gonna go single 40T chain ring and chain device on it too because i only ever use the outter chainring.
Its a general mess about bike, take it up the local trails and go to work on it when i feel like having a laugh on route to work.
It manuals so easily and just stays there too.0 -
Changed a bit...... updated pics:

Is the red avid part on the rear mech a pulley?0
-
yes, it stops the bend in the cable being so harsh, called an avid rollermajig, and its very very good!0
-
I think that fork is a tad too long for the LTS!0
-
-
The front end needed lifting so i fitted the junior T its the older version not the 7" travel version that came out after 2001???
I can lower the fork by lowering the crowns but it feels perfect for me.0 -
It was only designed for 110mm up front - any more will stress the frame too much really, and my mate folded his with a 6 inch fork. BB looks really high too.
But as there is no warranty anyway... ;-)0 -
If it folds, it folds.... Il just buy something stronger. lol0

The guys at retrobike are probably crying at that last statement!0
-
Probably, Whilst i appreciate it and bought the bike only because it was what i dreamt of in 1999. If it breaks then it wasnt for me. It seems to be lasting up well so far though!0

To dig up an old thread... I've just come into possession of this exact Specialized - not cycled much before but wondered what you could recommend please for light trail riding on this bike as yours looks superb. Cheers.0
