There were - completely unsubstantiated - rumours that this was the real reason that decided to take time off and get his knee fixed.
The timing was - co-incidentaly - matched to the introduction of blood testing at the major championships and the PGA and European Tours. They've brought this in as part of their (so far) successful bid for golf in the Olympics.
Of course this is all without substance and anyone who claimed otherwise could well find themselves on the receiving end of a letter from Mssrs Soo, Grabit and Runne under the orders of IMG, his management company.
