an old racer I bought off a friend when he went to live in Austria, its been my racer until I bought 'proper' bike last year. It had been gathering dust in my garage and rust spots were starting to appear on its lime green frame with black forks. (only reference I can find to the old bike is here but you can get an idea of what it used to look like http://velospace.org/node/18221)

I fancied a cool looking run around so resprayed it matt white including the rims then sprayed the pump and seat stem to match the blue handle bars and a very kind gentleman gave me the blue saddle after posting a request on this forum ! crud racer mudguards sprayed to match...

front derailleur removed and the mounting boss for it filed off to turn it into a 6 speeder (no way its going to be a fixie have you seen the hills in leeds!), I turned the handle bars over and sawed them off to give them a 'tri' look

Then bought a couple of white tyres to complete the look. cost about £50 total

Let me know your thoughts !
