I have a cannondale synapse alloy frame, it cracked on the chainstay about 18months ago - i eventually got a new frame but Cannondale messed me about big style for about 9 months> I want to upgrade to carbon and like the Cannondale synapse carbon 105 compact but I am wary about their after sales care> Does anyone have either good or bad reports on after care to help me decide if I should get a canondale synapse carbon ? Thanks.

If that'd been the case for me. Learn from my own experiences and out of prinicple run away from cannondale until i hear enough good stories about them.
Send them an email or something expressing your disatisfaction with what happened in the past, express your concern or desire to stay with the brand and see what happens. Though chances are you won't hear anything back, if thats the case find another manufacturer. There are others. :P0 -
Heard nothing but bad stories about cannondale warranties.
I know a certain big shop that dropped them for this reason.0 -
Funnily enough, a mate of mine cracked a synapse frame and it was sorted within 2 weeks. He was over the moon!0

i have a whole fleet of cannondales
and have owned loads in the past (together with other bikes-not just cannondales)
whilst cleaning one of them last summer, i noticed a small crack in the stem.
i removed the broken stem and took it to my nearest cannondale dealer who took it in and promised to show the cannondale rep when he next visted (shop said that they cant see why they wouldnt give me a replacement)
when the rep arrived to look at it they said that the stem had been over tightened and a replacement will not be given. the stem has not been adjusted by myself and thats how it was purchased. the shop offered a discount on a new stem, nice gesture but i declinedcause i already owned a spare.
i visted shop where bike was originally purchased a few weeks later and just chatted to one of the guys about my thoughts on cannondale. they give me another stem without seeing the original. thats good customer relations ( i think spending thousands with them throughout the years also helped)
i have vowed not to buy another cannondale0 -

So let me get this straight. You've bought a frame that has cracked, they fooked you about sorting it out AND you still want to but another?
Bloody hell Cannondale's must be good :shock:Expertly coached by http://www.vitessecyclecoaching.co.uk/

Well I'm at the other end. Bought a Carbon Synapse HD, had a small (small!) problem with the frame and it was no issue at all. Rode it till the new one came in, then they swapped it all over, with good grace.
Service has been great, just ordered a SuperSix HM from the same dealer.

Had crankset/BB issues with carbon si compact on my synapse. Cannondale replaced entire chainset and BB with newer 2 piece version without any quibble (although it did take a month!)0
