Tamworth area

Anyone know a family friendly pub in the Tamworth area. Driving down to meet family for a pressy exchange and thinking of stretching our legs in Pooley country park then grabbing something to eat before heading back.

Any ideas?

    I don't know if it still is in the same hands but the Trooper at a place called Wall just outside of Lichfield is pretty good, I used to use it when working away from home on the Lichfield Tamworth Four Tracking project. Besides that the Tame Otter is ok, it is part of a chain but not bad, but the Hedgehog at Lichfield also part of the same chain was were we would go for lunch every now and again.

    Got to the Hedgehog, meal okay and delicious pint of Marsdens Ped. Nice walk around Lichfield, never been there before so a decent day had by all.
