    The question should be:

Shall i allow my misses to prepare food for my children and i and to perform general laundry duties in my bike workshop, or as she likes to call it a 'Kitchen'
  • We need a new living room carpet because of my maintenance/cleaning program.
  • i fix my bike in the kitchen or living room

i even washed it in the bath using the shower once when it was snowing outside

my gears need a spot of looking at, hoping to do it tomorrrow night in the warmth of the kitchen  if the misses allows it ,
does any one else get away with such things ? or will i be expecting too much ?

I get the impression that your other half doesn't like it period so asking this is like looking for support from fellow compadre's who are in a similar situation

Thankfully myself I don't need to put up with such pointless nagging ... whinging

Most women know how to use a microwave , corkscrew /bottle opener more than a stove top ...

    FACT ........
  • :D I've even had My motorbike in the kitchen to strip the head, The beauty of working shifts and the wife being at work of course. My new GT is still in the bedroom until it finally gets dirty. I did suggest some wall brackets for the bedroom wall for it but she didn't seem to like that idea much......

I've quite often carried small boxes upstairs to my loft conversion flat and then a few weeks later, when all the parts have been sourced, wheel a complete bike down 2 sets of stairs!

What were the terms then?
  • Well, I just finished putting together an entire bike in the kitchen. Complete with full tool set, 2 workstands, donor bike and all the new bits.
I've also managed to put a nice big scratch in the kitchen table that I'll probably blame on one of the kids at some point

Ha ha ha, this is funny! I don't like bikes being in the house - at a push they can be worked on in the porch, but otherwise it's the garage. And that goes for my bike too

Obviously I fully accept that when i'm out for the night they are probably being lovingly cleaned in the middle of the lounge.....

Have a heart Miss Notax, even the most hardened of bike fettling fairys get a little chilly out in the garage in these temperatures, let him in to the the kitchen and make him a nice brew.. who knows that 'mystery brake drag' may even dissappear.
    A bike..in my garage.....I MUST tinker.

I've built two bikes from scratch (obviously not the frames) in our kitchen in this house.

In the last house I rebuilt an engine and port matched a cylinder head on the kitchen table

Couldn't get away with the gear box though as it was a bit awkward to fit on the table
