The line they used mentioned climbing to the top of the mountain, he does the opposite.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

    giggs won?
he really didn't deserve it. after this footballers should be banned from entering SPOTY.
it just ruins it for people like Jenson Button , David Haye etc.

Why? Why shouldn't a footballer win it?

No reason why a footballer shouldn't win, but was has Giggs done this year that he hasn't done for years.

He's won a premier league and reached a champions league final at the age of 36, an age at which most players have either retired or playing a league or two lower down, not at the top of the game.

    good point
but i really don't think he should have won. he didn't stand out from the crowd. as rich9 says what did he do that he hasn't done before.

and ok i was a bit harsh
  • Well he hasn't won it before, and he was named premiership player of the year as well. Pretty amazing really all the accolades.
David Beckham was the last footballer to win SPOTY in 2001
I like Button but I'm glad he didn't win it, maybe if he wins the championship again.
Ennis probably was as deserving as anyone else, missing the olympics and coming back the next year to win. David Haye... unite all the titles and he will win I'm sure

All the people at school whom play football. i dint mean to offend people i am purely stating facts and opnions.
  • Footballers get the market value the clubs think they are worth - you can be damn sure that if the top clubs didn't think they could make money out of them they wouldn't pay them the salaries, the problem is the lesser clubs are forced to compete on what has become a very uneven playing field.

    more facts:-

aparantly acording to the internet the average perso earns around about 20,000 to 30,000 pounds a year

David Beckham is reportedly on $50 million per year

in my eyes that is over paid. dont get me wrong david beckham is skilled but i still feel that that is too much to be paid. but lets not argue for ever, i understand your opinions and i hope you can see mine. at the end of the day we are all different and we all have different hobbies and interests if football is one of yours there is nout wrong with that.

It also says that his wages for football were $6.5m a year. Not even close to a million a month.

err i said about david beckham as an example. ok lets leave it at that becuase i cant be bothered to agrue. 8) :D:D
  • Opinions of people, not facts. Just because they say it does not mean everyone thinks it. The liverpool team ride bikes as part of training, other sports men and women use it, Mark Webber has his own race and famously broke his leg.
They are paid what people think they deserve, if people were not willing to go to matches or watch them on tv then they wouldn't be paid as much.

Well evidently lots of people like football and Ryan Giggs so looks like the right person won.
