Posting wheels??? HELP!!

Just sold a couple of wheels on eBay - any ones got any tips on how to pack them for posting? Also where they get the packaging (cheaper/free the better!!)

Sturdy cardboard box, plenty of packing. Make sure you put something over the ends of the axles so they dont punch through the box.

LBS and blag a bike box or wheel box. In a fullsize mountain bike box you can easily get 5 wheels. Height isn't a problem but length will be too long in a bike box.

Get down your LBS and ask them for a wheel box. I just posted 2 DH tires in a wheel box by RM special delivery, cost me £9.60, weight was 3.4kg I think (heavy DH tires).

As for packing, as Sir HC says, make sure you cover the axles, and if you can get hold of some for free, pipe insulation foam works well wrapped all the way round the rims.

Finally, tie wrap both wheels together so they dont knock around into each other whilt in transit.

Oh, and dont forget the "FRAGILE" "DO NOT STACK" etc stickers to go on the box. My post office stuck them on for free at my request.

sorry - didnt make myself quite clear - the wheels have been sold seperately and going to different places around the UK.
Think i'll try and blag some boxes from one of my LBS (Tredz or Wheelies)

+1 for tieing the wheels together, top and bottom. For the ends of the axles another LBS blag and try and get some of the caps that come on the wheels of new bikes when they are in the box.

went down to my LBS in Swansea and got a wheel boox and some cardboard - all good now
