I was walking to the shop and this big loverly burgundy Jag past me. My Grandad always had Jags so tend to have a peep but as this one drove past I saw a nice looking Bianchi with white bar tape stuffed crudely half in the boot.

All the guy had to do was hit a pothole and the heavy boot would come down and smash into that bike. He didnt even appear to have either the bike or boot secured, the top was just resting on the bike. Idiot.

  • I think you would be morally justified in confiscating the bike and thereby preventing such a thing from happening. Also, as bikes are meant to be ridden, you would also be justified in getting on it and taking it for a spin.

Maybe the rider was still attached to the bike. Perhaps the jag had run him over and the driver had bundled the rider plus bike in the boot and was on his way to dispose of the evidence down at the docks/local building site/nearby forest/new bypass bridge.

Well there wasnt an arm or leg sticking out. Have always wondered if a driver loading up the shopping could forget to shut the boot, reverse out and "scoop up" a passing cyclist.

I think DFM is right, that bike does need confiscating.
