how come bikes are only ever one colour ?

    In the good old days of steel you could easily just pick a frame and have it sprayed whatever colour you wanted (and then take it to your local bike builder for a re-spray the following year).

    No problem buy a hand built Mercian and you can have it finished in any colour scheme you can think of.

    Um, hate to disapoint you mate but it's widely acknowledged that red bikes are fastest.

    Only if they are going away from you. If they are coming towards you, they are faster if they are blue. (Google red-shift theory). If you are riding the bike in question it doesn't matter which colour you pick, you still have to pedal it.

  • Most bike ranges come in at least a few different colours. Personally I think all bikes should be white. 8)
