What do you fancy spending my £150 on?

As part of the cycle to work scheme I get !5% of the value of the voucher to spend on accessories. I have a £1,000 voucher which I'm using in full towards a bike (Kona Lisa RD 2010) but what accessories should I buy?

The only thing I've decided on so far are a pair of Look Keo pedals (although not decided which type yet).

What would you spend the £150 on if you were buying a new bike?

Depends on what you have already ?

This is my first road bike so not sure what I should be buying for it really! I'm buying shoes elsewhere that are compatible with the Look pedals but I'm not sure whether to go for the Keo Classic or Keo Sprint. I'll have to go for one of them though as pedals are a must.

I already have a helmet but fancy a new one which could be part of the £150. I assume I'll also need inner tubes etc but I'm not going for a lock as I'm not planning on leaving it out of my site! (at least for the first year... :D )

Any ideas as to what else I need? Some kind of tool carrier to strap under the seat? (I already have a multi-tool and chain lube already plus an array of clothing). No water cage or lights though...

I'd get a new helmet and probably the single LED Hope light.

  • buy a quality front light (£100 +) if you want to ride in the winter after 4pm and on roads with no stret lighting you need a decent light. a lot of the cheaper ones are fine for being seen, but not so good at making sure you can see any potential hazards (gravel, potholes, animals on the road etc etc).

  • Some decent warm clothing. Bib tights, base layer and windproof jacket.

I don't like cycling in the dark, purely because I don't trust drivers to see me and I don't trust myself to miss all the big holes!!!

Hmmm, yes, I think I may need substantially more than the £150.

Glad Christmas is coming up - I think I may have to hope that Santa is generous...

Cheers for all of the thoughts - I'll add them to my list (especially the winter light - there'a lot of countryside around where I live with no street lighting).

    Lights!

Up front a Hope Vision 1, can't comment on how good they are though, waiting on one in the post.
At the rear, a Smart Lunar or Mars 3.0 or both!
If you are cycling to work a Hump back bag cover is fantastic.

As for tools, get a pump that can fit on the frame perhaps & a seat bag to put tyre levers, repairs, spares etc in.

I don't think Halfords can order them in for you (not from my local store anyway)

And to be honest I'd rather spend the money on new cycling gear :D

If they did their t i t s would probably drop off and they're hands and feet would be the wrong way round.

And they'd send the wrong one

If it was getting spent on anyone's motorbike then it'd be mine... :D
