I've been looking at the POLAR CS600x with power, seeing as its a fraction of the price of other options and doesn't require a particular wheel or crankset it seem like a good option...so whats tha catch? I have heard it can be inaccurate but that doesn't bother me in the slightest as long as its consistent with itself. So, anyone got one of these? Can anyone comment on the durability and consistency of the readings?

I had one and used it briefly. Wouldn't really recommend it to be honest.

It works off of chain tension - which is why people say it is both inaccurate and inconsistent.

It's a fraction of the price because it works about a fraction as well as 'real' power meters.

The CS600 minus the power option is a great computer though.

I suspect someone who has used it ore than I did will be along shortly to explain why it IS a good buy.
