Question about Alligator Sleek Glide sealed gear cableset

Ordered one last week and it just arrived.
Opened it all up and it looks like theres only enough of the outer cable to do the rear.
I thought the point of a sealed cableset was that it goes from shifter to mech uninterruped, like my old Gore Ride-on set did.
With this, If I want it to fit both my front and rear mech, I'm going to need to cut it, leaving the inner cable exposed at some point. Is this correct?
At first I thought maybe it was just for Either front OR rear, but not only does the website specify "- One Alligator Sleek-Glide sealed gear cable set in Gold - For front & rear derailleur." but you get 2 inner cables in the set.
If I need to cut the outer at some point, which bit of the inner cable should I leave exposed? I'll be fitting to a 456. Could someone who has this system let me know what I'm supposed to do with it please :?:
Cheers.

yes you cut it as for a normal set up but the ferruls have "better" sealing with the "ends"
"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Cheers Nick. Makes sense I guess. Although I have to say I'm a little disappointed it's not full length cable outers for both mechs.0

it is not a full length set up.
if it was you would have less ferruls."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

yup, and more outer cable :P
I realise this now.
My own fault for not really paying much attention.

depending on which particular 456 you have you might struggle with this setup as on mine here are no cable stops other than for the front mech. So you can't use the ferrules to expose the inner at some point.0

It's ok, I was thinking that I'd order a couple more metres of outer to make them full length sets anyway, but thanks for the heads-up.0

always best to match your gear lines to your brake lines.0

I'm not so sure.
I want to get the bike built up then I'll decide wether I want to use Orange or White Braided hoses for the brakes [/tart]0 -
