Avid Juicy 3's leaking fluid from top cap

I've noticed this morning that my Avids appear to be leaking fluid from the small holes in the covers on the levers. Wiped most of it off but has corroded a bit of paintwork  I guess they'll need a bleed now but what's causing the leak?

Mine do the same, as long as they work and the lever is not spongy then leave them well alone.0

so do mine, its only ever a tiny ,tiny mear though, id leave them well alone.I like bikes and stuff0

Guess I'll just keep an eye on it then cheers. Another thing to add to my list about what I hate with my Juicys.0

yeah, my "juicy hate" list is pretty long,id swap them for 09 tektro comps in an instant, my cousin has them, and, oh my goodneess, they are good! so much more pwerful, and better feel. even my battered old tektro's, that are so badly in need of a bleed its stupid, have more proper power.I like bikes and stuff0

I'm not alone! Yep, my rear lever weaps a little fluid from the black screw on the top, It's tight enough and all that. Despite that and the horrendous squeal they make when I want to slow down, they're great!
Still, you get what you pay for in this game!
My "can't be arsed" attitude to bike maintenance is more than likely a factor.Espresso, not EPO.0 -
I have juicy 3's and have heard this a lot about them. Mine haven't leaked (yet) but i was thinking about tightening up the top cap screws. how tight shoud you screw them?0

A tweek and no more I would suggest, the levers are alloy, so you could run the risk of wreaking the thread if you give it the beans.Espresso, not EPO.0
