Hi all,

Can you run forks with a standard 1 1/8 steerer tube on a frame with a tapered 1 1/8 - 1.5 headtube? I f so how is it done?

Yes you can. It is done with a headset that reduces the size of the bottom race to a 'normal' size to accomodate the 1 /18 fork steerer, such as this one. (Searches for a bit, finds nothing).

Or you can do it with a reducer bottom bearing race, such as ones used on DH bikes, 1.5 -1 1/8.

And buy a separate top race for a 50mm headtube, for a 1 1/8 fork.

Easy. - though I'm sure someone must make a headset for this situation :?
