Hi,

First post so treat me gently :)

I've just purchased a Boardman Team Hybrid (i've read all the hybrid vs road bikes :) ) and am commuting about 12miles each way most days.

I've got an old set of Shimano SPD's on my old road bike which i'll transfer over to my new bike and I'm on the lookout for some new shoes.... The only snag is I'm a UK size 13...

Any recommendations etc???

Thanks

    Welcome to the forum :)

    Check out these:

They're a little bit stiff to start with, but I'm using them for the commute (15 miles each way) and cross racing and found them more than up to the job.

Thanks for the quick reply but they haven't got my size :(

    I'm looking for a 48 / 48.5.

    Hello and welcome :D

Sidi appear to cater for large feet. I've seen up to size 52 on their website.

One thing I've heard about Sidi is that they seem to be a bit thinner than say a Spesh BG. I tried both when I bought when my BGs and the Sidis definitely felt tighter.

Spesh BG you can't go wrong and yes Sidi are narrower
Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.

To ride your bike ... beware of the trap of finding more stuff you 'need', via this forum

Good choice. I've been using some BGs since June 2004. I didn't mention the Spesh, did it? Duh! :)

What next? Get thee to the "thread to say what you've just bought". :)

I too have big feet (size 13) and so far the cheapest shoes I have found to fit me are again at wiggle.

The price might make you bulk a bit, but I find them a great shoe for my commute

I'm afraid my best shoes for the big dedicated rides and races are a little more pricey....http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Sidi_Genius_66_Carbon_Road_Cycling_Shoe_2009/5360037052/

Even I took an intake of breath when I handed over the money for them.
