Personally I think the changrs are crap.
How can you scrap points and individual pursuit then have team sprint and keirin.
Now theres 3 sprint events, team pursuit and omnium so it is heavily sprint orientated,
So it looks if your a sprinter you get three chances to medal if endurance rider, you get one, either team pursuit or omnium, no way can you do both.

What hit home for me was Pendleton's comment on the 500m TT at the World Cup ... "not wasting time/effort at a non-Olympic event". It would be a terrible shame to see the individual pursuit viewed in this light. As a newcomer to following cycling, not just track cycling, the IP was one of the stand-out events. Not just a rider against the stopwatch, against the numbers, but a rider directly against their opponent, time and time again, through the heats.
  • Whats gets me is the Ominium, its not even a world cup event, nonsense.

The pursuit was great to watch, I like individual events - very 'Gladiator-ish'
  • Gutted to see the IP go.

It's great to increase the womens events, but not like this, at the expense of some of the best events and by making a silly omnium as an excuse to say more events, when in fact it's really only one.

a f200 tt in the omnium, what's the point? the sprinters still need to do them for qualifying in MS, it's only going to confuse the public...
  • yes the IP has gone but does this mean they are going to do more tandem racing.
or 4 person tamdem racing bikes for the track ?

 sorry have I got the wrong era again :?:
