brake fluid

need to bleed my brakes - wasjust going to bob into halfords for some fluid.

500mls of DOT5.1 in the car section £5.99

250mls of DOT5.1 in the bike section £4.99

is it exactly the same only with 'Bike tax' added on????

    thought as much - cheeky feckers- mind you I may end up buying the bike stuff anyhow as half of it only ends up sitting on my shelf for a year and then going down the tip for recycling!

    Bingo... Small bottles can be just as good. (though having said that, you can safely store dot brake fluid- just seal it up well and keep it somewhere dry and it'll generally be fine, the warning labels are there for a reason but that doesn't mean you can't bend the rules a little.

    more likely just cause it is a smaller bottle. bet the same size bottle is the same price in the car section.
