Probably been asked loads of times but please stick with me.
Have been on the M%S home insurance website and very impressed with the quote but nowhere does it ask about specific items. Cover bikes up to 3K?
Anyone on here use them? Happy?

I use them. Covers bikes up to £4k I think. One claim when I drilled through a central heating pipe. All sorted quickly and with no fuss. They changed underwriters (think that's the right term) last year from Norwich Union to Axa (I think). Not sure if this has had any impact on the service.

    I just started with them.
It doesn't ask to specify any particular items. Says any item to £4000.
They are now underwritten by AXA.
It seemd like a superb deal to me...
Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!
  • I have used M&S for 2 years not claimed but when I took it out I called them up to confirm the £4000 limit and was surprised that this also covers accidental damage away from home as well 8)

As in if you happen to have a "mishap" on a ride? If so that's great!

Just been sent first renewal since switch to AXA. Last few years 130, now 290!!!!
I'll call them tomorrow and check if it's a mistake. Never claimed or anything.

  • i use them. they cover bikes up to £4000 unspecified, but if you have a more expensive bike you just need to let them know.
Very good at settling claims - very recently i cracked my SL2 frame (ouch - only 5 months old too  ). From the time of claiming to settlement was under 2 weeks. no forms - all done on the phone.
They do like for like when replacing a bike/frame, but you can choose another bike only if the company they use (wheelies in Wales) sell them.
  • by the way - i wasn't riding the bike at the time i knackered the frame - did it at home (won't say how i did it - too embarrasing  ), but i assume they cover you when riding IF you choose the right options under 'contents' (accidental damage )
  • Been with them for three years, since the underwriters changed this year policy has gone from £450 to £735 - i am cuurently shopping around!

    Pegoretti
    Colnago
    Cervelo
    Campagnolo
  • I can't quite believe this - it is such amazing value. for years i have been arguing with Endsleigh over the specific value of each of my bikes (really sir, you have a bike that is worth over £1,000? well, yeah, a couple actually but i couldnt tell them that...) and have even been hiding some or describing them as 'bike' rather than the make and model etc so that i could switch in the event of a theft. and here, M and S done even need you to speciy the number, value, make or anything. the only problem seems to be if a single bike is £4k plus.

so please someone dont tell me it is all a crock of crap as i have just taken it out 9and saved a fortune, i feel like one of those awul adverts)
