    Due to some of your recommendations i'll be doing Penhyyd in the afternoon on Sunday now. Sounds like a cracking ride once you get the fire roads done and dusted.

    Whites in the morning i'd imagine.

    Can't wait :)
    thats a great plan, in the spring me and a mate made a day epic of white followerd by lunch followed by riding down the valley to Afan, and then riding penhydd, followed by a few laps of the little "taster" track, by the CP.
    I like bikes and stuff

    Is that the loose section that leads to the Wall? I always finish Penhydd off with that little section. Its so fast and you can really let the bike go at the bottom on the gravel. I pretty much overcook that last double S and hit the tree every time... but its such a sweet little gravity pump i keep on pushing until one day i hope i will float through it :wink: Well that's the theory either that or im gonna hit that tree very hard :D
    The bicycle is a curious vehicle. Its passenger is its engine.

    For someone who asked where I ride in Cambridge, I do the wimpole loop about once a week and I go swimming a fair bit to keep general fitness up, here's a map of the route if your interested:

    [I don't know why the map centres in the yorkshire dales, just move it over to Cambridge area and you'll see the route markers]

    that was me, i take it you recorded or mapped that route?
    is there much of a MTB scene up here? is there a few of you ride?

    I cant wait to go back to afan to do a timed run, but my next scheduled trip to wales is CYB as the last two visits have been Afan..

    Nah, don't have any fancy GPS stuff, I just entered the waypoints in for that route, didn't take too long to do it manually, its a good ride for round here, there's a couple of "tougher" climbs (nothing compared with Wales) especially when the mud is sticky!

    Your more than welcome to tag along although we are not super fit and don't race round, we prefer to take it a bit steady, there are a few fun bits to the ride, in the lighter months we try to ride on weekday evenings after work and make it more regular, in the winter stick to Sunday morning rides, if your interested feel free to drop me an email, we're riding this Sunday if your up for it, should be a fairly good crowd (about 5 of us are definates);
