Today, when I set off from home, it was the most beautiful, chilly, late-autumn day. The sun was shining, the birds tweetled happily, and even the car drivers smiled occasionally.

Until I got about 1 mile away from work, when I rode into a huge, thick cloud of freezing fog. Instantly, the temperature dropped, visibility was next to none (had to stop and turn on all my lights). By the time I reached work, I even had a thick layer of frost on my arms.

I heard the weather forecast this morning, Radio 4 said it was going to be "like, well cold geeza, nahatahmeen"*
I dropped the car round for a service and walked back in my cycling gear - I was ruddy boiling and took loads of extra layers off before I set off on the bike.

    MTFU Radio 4, honestly!

*May not be the exact words used
    "Impressive break"

    "Thanks...

    ...I can taste blood"
