Mr rake - You don't actually know what you're talking about mate. Wilier and Pinarello are made in Taiwan.

Oh no I forgot - your mate has one of these bikes so you must be right - right? Yeah right, fool.

boardman are also made in taiwan. i dont know what this my mate stuff is either, i am right and you are the fool. your fire is out. ACTUALLY.

Mate, take a breath, people are pulling your leg and you're not realising it. Taiwan is part of the Republic of China, ergo "Made in Taiwan" = "Made in China".

yes when guff is spoken. saying a mercedes is a rebadged lada will likely upset me.

Why? Because you've bought in to the marketing hype?

So the only difference between Mercedes and Lada is marketing hype? If not- what's your point?

No, I'd say 50% would be down to real quality the rest is marketing/branding. Again, loosen up pal, you seem to have a strong emotional bond to something that is not of your doing.

i refer you to what mr chuck put. made in china isnt equal to made in taiwan.
you need to loosen up at the back then all the sh1t that seems to be coming from your mouth can make a propper exit. your emotional bond is to effluence.

I fear this is all flying right over your head isn't it?

In a way, we are both right. "Made in Taiwan" isn't the same as "Made in China" because "Made in Taiwan" has a higher intrinsic value, ie people equate higher quality with "Made in Taiwan" than they do with "Made in China". Which I guess is what first got you so riled. On the other hand, they can both be taken to mean "Made in China", as Taiwan is, politically speaking, part of RoC. If "Made in China" had a better intrinsic value than "Made in Taiwan", you can bet your bottom dollar that all products coming out of Taiwan would say "Made in China".

BTW The bike itself is really good value for money. If it was sold through my LBS I may have got one myself. However, seeing as it doesn't, I bought another made in "China" frame.

    As you were.

No they don't. They're both shoot

Relative to one another though, "Made in Taiwan" is arguably better than "Made in China". In your terminology; one is shoot, the other is shootier

a lot of the fast eastern factories have much more advanced facilities than western ones. Yes the far east make a lot of the cheap and nasty stuff but they also make the really good stuff too.
