anyone cycled Lairig Ghru

looking at longer distance rides for when the spring comes and the Lairig Ghru was a plan for last year before i got injured, but i cant fund much on it from a cycling perspective, any of you guys had a crack at it, which side is the best way to attack it from? how long did it take, how difficult is it? possibly a novice rider coming along but dont want to take him too far out his comfort zone, if its gonna be too tough.
