  • Hi went up there last month on the lauch of the red run,
Lets just say its different to what it used to be its hard in a lot of places to carry the speed you need and after all the rain they have had alot of the trails have been washed away.
Woodbury common i should also think is a mud bath been there once didnt realy gel with the place or was riding the wrong bits but good luck.
  • made it to Haldon today - my first trail centre and have to say i was quite impressed! cafe was good, toilets and a shower ! loads of parking and a place to get bits if needed. lots of families out on the family trail and did the red ridge run twice. drainage was good and some interesting bits of track - really liked the middle section, got it all flowing really nicley on the 2nd run. seemed like a diversion at the start of the long grind back to the top section and have to say the top section was a bit tame - but on the whole loved it and will return for another go soon. so A+ Haldon Forest trailbuilding guys.

never found anything resembling a black run though - website states black and double black but saw nothing like this........

jonnyc2420 was it busy being a Sunday ? I'm only half hour down the road in Plymouth. Keep meaning to pop up there on a weekend (or day off) but still havent got around to it :?

I dont mind it being a bit on the busy side, but if its to the point where you're stopping and starting every 10 secs, I think I'll leave it as a day off activity

  • not too busy - most of the people are parking there for xmas trees or walking - no probs with the trails being blocked by other riders and not a single walker on the bike trails while i was there - bearing in mind sunday was supposed to be the best day of the week weather-wise, i'm suprised there was not more out.... probably even less busy weekdays.
