shimano am40 midsole want stiffer that whats provided

could i make a pair? carbon fibre? any helpful advice and links would be kewl.

    hmmm, maybe, dont forget that while a stiffer insole will increase power transfer, it will also dramaticly reduce grip....

    " dramaticly reduce grip...." because i the shoe wont bend so easily? wish i could find someone in the uk to make them rather than me doing a really bad job of it.

    yeah, the shoe provides much of its grip from the fact that the rubber deforms, and the sole flexes, moulding the shoe "around" the pedal, sop if the shoe cannot flex, the rubber/pedal contact area is reduced, and the grip reduces hugely.

    any ideas how to make a pair of mid insoles or who would make some?

    try talking to an sports othopedic to get some custom orthotics made up. they maybe able to make something stiff enough for your use?
