Shimano XT SL-M760 Gear levers

I have the XT Sl M-760 rapid fire gera levers.Only problem is,they aint so rapid fire anymore. They seem "sticky" when down shifting to the smaller cogs.Sometimes it takes 2 pushs of the trigger for the rear derailleur to move out and the chain going onto a smaller cog.Or sometimes the 2 smallest cogs cant be enguaged at all.The chain is new and clean/oiled,rear cassette is also new,and the rear derailleur is clean/oiled and 2 new jockey wheels fitted. So do any experts on here recommend taking apart the shift levers and spraying a bit of WD40 inside them???Is it easy enough to take apart the shift lever body??It looks like 3 small screws hold it al together??Thanks in advance,Micky

clean/lube the cables.
Make sure the mech hanger is not bent and the stops are set correctly."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
