I want to change the sprocket on a campag Pista hub. Can I use any brand of track sprocket or are there any specific ones (besides Campag) I should look at?

Thanks

They run a standard thread so will fit virtually anything.

Try here for sprockets and other track stuff as an option.

I think that the only difference on the Campag Pista hubs is the thread pitch for the lock ring.

If you're after quality track sprockets, I can highly recommend the Shimano Dura Ace 7600 ones. I got mine from Parkers but Dolans sell them now as well.

Any thoughts on the Miche sprockets with the carrier/splines? I was going to go for them so I could change gearing easily without a chainwhip.

I think they're fine and use them on my training and track league wheels.

A lot of people don't like them because you have to use a lock ring and [opens can of worms  ] they roll out the old 'safety' argument about allowing sprockets to come off in an emergency. I'd rather my sprockets stayed on in a sprint and use lock rings on all of them so it's a mute point with me - I've never heard of a sprocket accidentally coming off that does have a lock ring fitted. 8)

The only slight problem with the Miche system is that you eventually get wear between the sprocket and spline system and get a small amount of play.
