Nice. I am also considering a long-travel steel machine (having more-or-less discounted the £3500+ it would cost to go titanium). In the frame is the 456 & Cotic Soul with a similar build to yours except I will probably get rather expensive fixed travel Fox RLC 140mm QR15s. A few questions:
1) Do you know what it weighs in at?
2) Does it have enough steel-feel to make it comfier than an alu frame for long day rides?
3) What did your build cost?Commencal Meta 5.5.1
Scott CR10 -
1)i would guess around 26-27 lb
2)ive riden an inbred for 4+ hours and its more forgiving than my ally hardtail
3)not to sure as i had a lot of bits already
as for fox forks ive got 140mm floats on my marin and im after a pair for the 456 as there super smooth and very light0 -
cool. i don't mind the colour. some might think your a homosexual but others will say that you stand out from the specialized :P :roll:0

Damn, that's a nice bike. 8)
I'm thinking of building "almost the same" as yours bike this spring, but without the clipless pedals.
But I want a 16" frame, isn't that 18"?0 -
yeah its an 18" and i need clipless as its a bit muddy where i ride lol0
-
love the colour! my face was the barry white black but couldnt get that for a 456. was tempted by pink but the missus would have been v jealous!0
-
love the colour also
but you'd better be fast riding a pink bike0 -
Love it, cool colour 8)0

Its gay just like its owner :P0
-
You won't look like much of a dark knight on that one!0
-
What frame size is it?0
-
its an 18"0
-
erm a different colour choice than most would have chosen. i like it though i bet you stand out at trail centers though0
-
He didn't need a pink bike to do that lol0
-
Just don't bend over to mend a puncture
It is quite funky in pink though, just not sure I could put up with the abuse :-)0 -
Are the tyres on rotation wrong???Suffering from the light bike fat git syndrome.0
