The Demise of 10 Speed
I was in my lbs yesterday, and it turns out they have no chorus or record 10 speed cassettes left. Won't be getting anymore in either as everything is now 11 speed. Oh well, I'll have to buy a couple online and stockpile them. There must be loads of 10 speed users out there, what are you planning to do, upgrade?

I'm sure CRC will have some 10 speed jobbies available.
You could buy a few and they should last a fair while, then in the meantime you can save up for 11 speed.Planet X RT-57 custom build0 -
Humbug! - I'm still mourning the passing of 9 speed!0

Someone MUST make aftermarket Campy cassettes??????0

CAMPAG not CAMPY ;-)0

Buy Centaur cassettes? Doesn't seem too bad to me! My LBS carries no Campagnolo cassettes or chains at all, but that's partly because of the huge MSRP in the USA....0

Centaur and Veloce cassettes do the same job just as well, unless you are a complete racing snake. The extra few grammes make no noticeable difference!0

Yes there is no letter 'y' in Italian.
But as long as you pronounce the 'gn' with a "yuh-n" sound then you will be close. Definately NOT with a hard G sound.
In french the 'gn' sound is similar to the sound of the 'ni' as in "onion" think champagne. No hard G.

Do you frown when waiters say brushetta instead of brusketta0

There seem to be a lack of Campagnolo Record / chorus 10 speed cahins on some i-net suppliers, and they list in stock for later 2009......I`m sure / hope though that Campagnolo 10 speed cassettes will be around for many years although they may become no longer `weapon of choice`0

Campy. Is that the metrosexual groupset or are you just pleased to see me.

If I got a bike with campy, Shimano would be a bit on the side.0

You get a smooth change through all the gears because there's never more than a 2t difference between sprockets.
Also, I read somewhere that Campag are introducing a cassette with something like a 28T or 29T bottom sprocket from Athena upwards. Apparently it'll be like riding with a true triple chainset on a compact setup and you don't need a long cage rear mech to cope with the ratios. Clever stuff from the Italian masters IMO.Let's close our eyes and see what happens0 -

Or you could just get fitter... There's nowt more than a 2 tooth change anywhere on a 12-25!
As for the OP, my purchase of a centaur chainset last-year made it obvious that it's simply the 10spd Chorus rebadged."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"
