Has Cannock recovered?
We ride FtD most weekends, but last it was an utter state, worst I have seen it since I started riding there in March.
Does anyone know if it has dried outand stabalised at all this week?
Cheers guys.

I rode there a few weeks back for the first time, I quite liked FtD, a nice fast flowing trail however it had rained like hell before we got there and it was drizzly on the day. It didn't really affect the riding appart fron a few slippy moments. I was however cringing at listening to every bearing and my brake pads get eaten by sand and gritNiner Air 9 Rigid

Went this weekend and the it was definatly better tan the week before, but trail is changing drastically every week due to erosion. The end of the rock slabs has changed from a 4-5" step to a foot in the last few weeks, that's just crazy!
Still enjoy the trail but there are a few bits that are getting silly, like the mud bath before the fireroad climb, doubles the weight of your wheels just before the climb... not fun at all.0 -
I've only ridden it once so not really in a position to comment. I do remember a few big puddles and that mudbath before the fire road climb your on aboutNiner Air 9 Rigid

was there on Saturday - had a great time (Thanks Will and Stew) first time there but will be going again once phase 2 has been completed. FTD was a great flowing trial - bit tight around some corners in the woods but I guess I it is all about speed, confidence and balance. There were a few puddles but didn't spoil the riding - infact in helped wash the grit and mud off my brakes!!0

I can't believe people are riding the new stuff before it's finished, fcking does my head in. Selfish b@stards . They are going to damage it before it's even officially open.0 -

During the autumn people were riding P2 but at least they were a little bit stealthy. Now they park up in their Animal L200s at the bottom of Lower Cliff, leave High5 wrappers and empty Monster cans all over the place and ride round in broad daylight :evil:0 -

Thanks, Someone refered to it as xmas on steroids...
I am looking forward to P2, not sure what to expect at all, but I can do FtD with very minimal braking now (probaby a sign that going every weekend is too often) so having new bits will be a good change.
Are there any plans to keep the chainslapper as an alternative route?0 -

My guess is that unless it can be properly maintained, it will have to be closed because of H&S issues. No doubt someone from Cheeky Trails will open it again0 -
I don't know what has happened since last week, but the trail was bone dry and super fast again! was the driest it has been in 2 odd months. Very surreal indeed.
Managed to snap my chain and had a bail too, but still had awesome fun!
Anyone else there today see the two girls with cameras waiting by the side of the trail? We saw the same two girls at two different parts :? publicity photos maybe?0 -
