Hairspray is sprayed on seat post to stop it sliding down into frame over time.
You can get proper carbon grip paste for same purpose0 -

Carbon Fiber Assembly Gel
hair spray might be as good as these. The problem is that even when carbon fibre handlebars and stems are clamped tight they can still slip. So there is the temptation to over tighten and then damage the carbonfibre.0 -
Hairspray "normally" used for stopping grips on flat/MTB bars (also track bikes) from moving. Doesn't apply to road bikes with bar tape.
Not sure I'd use it on a seatpost. My carbon posts both have the assembly compound on (can't remember which brand, Finish Line I think) - recommended. Means the post will stay put without having to do the clamp up so tight and risking crushing the post.
For aluminium seatposts, usually a small amount of grease is suggested to stop them seizing in the frame, but haven't used it on any of mine and never had a seized post.
Not really anything special to do regarding servicing - pretty much same as any bike :- Wash, dry & lube it regularly, especially this time of year - stops the rot and helps you spot any issues developing. Clean and lube cables often. Keep an eye on brake blocks, they disappear real quick in wet weather. Generally regularly check nuts/bolts etc for tightness. Get friendly with your Local Bike Shop.
