Beware NorthWave shoe size conversion table

I just bought some NorthWave Fahrenheit winter shoes from Wiggle. I must say they look better in person than in the pictures.

However, NorthWave provide a Euro - UK size conversion table
EURO 45 = UK 11

and Shimanos version
EURO 45 = UK9.5

I can tell you that I'm an 11 in every shoe brand I've ever tried, and I couldn't get my foot in the Northwave shoe. I'm sure Wiggle will swap out with no fuss as is their way, but if anyone's buying Northwave shoes for Christmas presents, bear this in mind.

    Hi,

    I just purchased my first pair of road shoes (Northwave Vertigo) and when i was in the shop i was told GENERALLY you go up a size when it comes to cycling shoes. I tried an 11 (my normal shoe size) on in the Specialized BG's also and these were very small.

    I went for the NW's, in a UK 12, over the Specialized's because my feet were a bit too wide for them to be comfy.

    I am also a size 11 and have two pairs of Northwave shoes size 46, they fit perfectly.I live in the Netherlands and here a size 11UK is a 46 Eu size. Size 10 UK is a 45 European size.As are most other footwear.

    I'm a UK 10 but all my shoes are Euro 45...
  • It's not just shoes - their clothing charts bear no relation to reality either.

    As someone already mentioned UK 11 = 46 & 10 = 45

    On general though its best to try actual size from each manufacturer before buying on-line. I am size 47 in Specialized but shimano, Northwave and SIDI's 47 is too small - while Northwaves 48 is too big and shimano's 48 is good too so based on my experience here is equivalent sizes;

    Northwave 47.5 = Specialized 47 = Shimano 48 = SIDI 48

    Of course Northwave do not make 1/2 sizes above 46 but i am sure you get the drift - also I have not tried the mega range in SIDI which is larger fit than norm so sizes for such special shoes within a range has not been taken into account.[/img]
