Jamis Parker or Keep

Hi guys,
i am having the itch for a full-sus and need some help with decision making. I am currently riding a diamondback response sport which consists of stock parts except for a x9 rear dee and wellgo pedals.
I am not sure if i should save up more to upgrade and make this hardtail a better bike or just ride this bike and save up for a Jamis Parker I which i would have the budget for in 1 or 2 years time.
Which is a better choice? Upgrade the current bike or just ride it until i have enough budget for a Jamis Parker I.
As for the type of riding i do, i do xc most of the time, going to dabble into some dj and street. Thinking of going to Super D races in the time to come.
Thanks for your time guys, appreciate it.
Cheers!
