What exactly will they measure? To who will the measurements be sent? To what use will the data be put? And who else will have access to the data?

Who pays the £8bn price tag? We know that already!

  • Hopefully, what you use as opposed to an infinite number of monkeys presuming that a single resident uses as much gas/wigglies/water as a family of three and guestimating your bill accordingly. Then, unannounced, when you're at work a duffer, who is barely able to operate the hand hold device he's been given, turns up and is unable to read your meter. Presuming the guy has enough cards anyway. No doubt the laying off of all the meter readers will save a large lump of cash to go towards the cost. The rest can come out of their non leak fixing banker like profits. (And then I woke up)
Who will they sell your data to? Now there is the non Caucasian gentleman in the lumber yard.
Thanks Cressers cant beat an early day rant :D

£8bn buys a lot of infrastructure or energy.

And there is the small matter of why a private energy sector is being dictated to once again by this interfering bunch of incompetents.
