Been looking for a £500 hardtail recently. Chanced upon the Trek 4500 disc while looking at another bike. Can't believe I didn't look at it before.Anyone got one or know anything about it? Looks pretty good to me.

Hmmm, the price has gone up £50 since it was launched, and the fork changed.

Looks OK for the money, but plenty of other good optins out there.

You're right, there is a lot of choice around the £500 mark :? , my problem is my company are dragging their heels this year with the Cycle to Work scheme - I've had too long to think about it this time around. I started looking back in October but probably won't actually be buying until January. Yesterday, I actually went in to look at the Gary Fisher Wahoo Disc, one of my original choices, and the guy pointed me in the direction of the Trek. An extra £50 but with hydraulic brakes. I think it may come down to the Trek or the Boardman Sport. I've yet to read a poor review about a Boardman bike.

    Cheers
