As I am sure many of you have read in the news. Anyway, I just wondered what you actually thought of 'global warming' and more specifically, man made warming? Usually a hot topic on other forums.

I reckon we have a part to play in accelerating the process but it was gonna happen sooner or later, bring on the warmer Summers! :P

Environmental concern won't prevent me from one day owning my dream car either - Maserati 4200.

You can't just blame 4x4s or big powerful cars, at the end of the day, a mondeo isn't doing the emvironment any good either. So less of this 'get landrovers off the road' and more walking.

Oh, and as much as I would like to do something to help, it would be pointless, unless there is a collective will to take action, and help reduce our effect on the environment.

I'm just distgusted at how a species led by fools can self destruct itself like this as we chase to save our stupid economy (which is messed up anyway).

Wow, 16 votes already! Definitely a lean towards the 'not as bad as some are making out'.

I lie sorta between the 2nd and third option.

I defer my opinion to those currently doing the work in the fields that count and am going with the bulk of them and what they say at the moment. Rather than make my own sh!t up.

So that would leave me in between 3 and 4. Not that any of it matters as fuck all will be done about anything. And you've got 3 billion people itching to claim 1st world status and join in with the West's bullshit. Not happenin' , not enough sh!t to go round.

....actually I'll go with 4 but won't give a sh!t cause I'll be dead by the time the worst of it comes round.

The IPCC are a bit vague about it all - they reckon between 1.1 and 6.4 degrees warming by 2100. That is kinda like being able to put your hand in the oven or having it burnt off!

Nevertheless, it always predicts some warming.

I don't care, in as much as nothing I can do will make any difference. So why inconvenience myself for no benefit. Horribly selfish, I know.

Just think of all those who have taken a dump up there though. Actually, that is probably why it is melting!

Production accounts for the majority of a car's CO2 emissions. Hence, it is far better to keep an old car running than to scrap it and replace it with a disposable modern car.

This is my excuse for driving a two point two five litre petrol engined land rover that does 15mpg on a good day.

we live in a society that has created all these things to enjoy our life and they are killing the planet apparently, but the planet is getting more and more populated, and as the sun is a star, it will probably explode one day anyway.

When greener viable alternatives are available I will use them, i uselow enegy bulbs and have efficient appliances, i recycle because i have a recycling bin etc, but I will not pay stupid amounts of money for green technology such as a hybrid car when I can get a better spec normal car for a fraction of the price. I'm all for extending the life of the planet and being sensible, but I dont like things being rammed down my throat. The other thing I dislike is the talk of green taxes, like I said give me an affordable, viable alternative and I will use it, not bully me with Tax threats

The Western world has had its chance. Who are we to tell the Chinese and other developing nations to 'ease off' with the consumerism?

We can recycle all we want and use all the low-energy bulbs in the world but it won't make a scrap of difference. You only have to fly in a plane and look down at our tiny, densely packed towns and cities amongst the huge tracts of land to realise that if we really have influenced so much nature, then it's too late.

Its all a crock a sh*t anyway, the UEA recently had their internal email database hacked into and stolen showing emails between colleagues basically showing how things that are put forward to the media arnt exactly correct and that its not as bad a thing as we are making it out to be.

Yet they scientists say "aaaah well its still happening this doesnt discredit anything" and you know what the scary thing is, it wont and people will go on believing we're all doomed, its all our fault and it has nothing to do with natural climate change.

Dont recall there being any plastic bags or cars around when the ice age occured.

  • Natural cycles are still ruling IMHO, however i do believe we may well be accelerating and exaggerating this increase.

There has been some research carried out that shows that an increase in C02 leads to cooling of the atmosphere so im not sure i do believe the whole global warming crap.

I'm guessing the links show how the emails are merely jokes between colleagues and any words mentioned are ment in a different context and infact the world is still on a self destruct course.

Read it and you'd know for yourself. Which is the point about all this really.
