any ideas on the condition of Fodca?

thinking of trying it out this sunday, but havent been there before

is it open and ridable? anyone been there lately

is it any good? only experience of 'official' trails is cwmcarn - how does it compare?

if you mean forest of dean fodca trail, its not to bad, quite sticky in places but good slippey fun. nice wet and muddy at the mo. if we are talking about the same place let me know where and what time sunday if you dont mind me tagging along, i ride there all the time. and on about cum carn, thats different sort of trail all together. been there twice this year and its good riding up and back down but is not like that here, just fire roads and single tracks all over and a nice little down hill section above the bike centre.

i went last sunday....

it was bad.. they have been logging in the first climb aea so trees and stumps everywhere (still a track but not as nice a ride)

the second half of the climb was covered with logs to impassable and we had ot carry the bikes up through it. (although that was fun)

lovely downhills from there though and great ride after the few probs at the begining. still worth the visit if your happyto divert at the start ofthe trail.

i cant imagine anything as bad as those first half climb at the twrch trial to be honest

(though to be fair thats about the technical nature and sheer hard work rather than the condition of the trial, which is excellent)

just hope for better weather on sunday morning!

plenty more places to ride in FOD without going on the enduro trail they have built this year. loads of single track, just got to know where they are.
