The summit up at hyde heath aint bad,bit short but a few loops will sort you out, park at the church in little missenden then pedal back out onto the a413 towards amersham, take the 2nd left up weedon hill, over the railway bridge, about 200yds on left go up the steep ditch/bank,and the course runs anti clockwise.even better in the dark!
Not to sure where else around that area,we mainly ride downley common to strike command and back, but its so boggy at the mo so mainly run swinley.Told ya itll hurt!0 -

Our club rides all around the Chilterns both in the day and at night. Races up at Lotts Wood during the summer. Plenty of members based in the Amersham area. Have a look at our site and come and ride to see if you like us.

Apologies for grave digging this thread, but I was wondering whether there were any other routes around that would be worth doing in the Amersham/Chalfonts areas.
I've been scanning over my OS map (well, multimap anyway) and hadn't realised how many footpaths and bridlepaths there are around here.
Anyone got any top tips of which ones are bike friendly - or which to avoid? Sort of fancy heading out from Amersham towards Chalfont St Giles and Hodgemoor Woods, maybe across to Browns Wood or Great Beard's Wood or towards Little Chalfont, Latimer & Flaunden - are there any paths I should ignore as impassible by bike?0
